Music has the ability to nurture the hearts and minds of all children and youth and to help them transform their lives through the creative process. Research has consistently demonstrated an unmistakable link between music learning and academic achievement, as well as demonstrating that children and youth who participate in early childhood music classes have a unique opportunity to grow socially and emotionally through the intimate connections they make as part of shared music experiences with parents, caregivers and peers. These skills enable young people to be successful and to feel confident throughout their lives. This confidence allows them to ask important questions, make independent choices and pursue meaningful careers that will assist them in becoming successful, contributing adults.
